π Outstanding Achievement! π On Friday, Rome from Year 6 proudly represented the Parramatta Diocese at the 2026 MacKillop Basketball Trials. He not only showcased his impressive skills on the court, but also demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork and courage throughout the day. A huge congratulations to Rome on being selected in the 2026 MacKillop Team! π He will now compete at the 2026 PSSA Basketball Tournament in Port Macquarie from 19β22 May. We are incredibly proud of you, Rome, and canβt wait to follow your journey! ππ

β¨ Year 6 Encounter β Student Faith Formation Experience β¨ Our Year 6 students recently attended Encounter at Panthers, gathering with students from across the Parramatta Diocese for a powerful day of faith and connection. Throughout the day, students: π Engaged in meaningful conversations π¬ Reflected on their personal faith journeys βͺ Participated in Adoration πΆ Praised through the uplifting music of Gen Bryant It was a beautiful opportunity for our students to deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their connection with the wider Catholic community. Today we welcomed our local Catholic high schools to visit our Stage 3 students, sharing what they have to offer as our learners begin to look ahead to the next stage of their educational journey. It was wonderful to reconnect with former St Nicholas of Myra students and see how they are thriving in their high school years. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong relationships formed in our community. We thank our visiting schools for inspiring our students and strengthening the connection across our Catholic learning community. β¨

πββοΈ Nepean Zone Swimming Carnival 2026 πββοΈ St Nicholas of Myra students truly got into the swimming spirit at the 2026 Nepean Zone Swimming Carnival. Our students showcased their skills, cheered one another on and competed with outstanding effort and determination. We are so proud of the way they conducted themselves both in and out of the water, demonstrating respect, teamwork and true sportsmanship. Not 1, not 2, not 3β¦ but 12 students will now represent the Nepean Zone at the 2026 CSPD Swimming Carnival on March 4th! A sincere thank you to our dedicated teachers and supportive parents who encouraged and supported our students throughout the day. What an incredible achievement . Way to go, St Nickβs! ππ§‘ππ

βοΈ Ash Wednesday β Infants Liturgy π Today our Infants students gathered for a beautiful Ash Wednesday Liturgy to mark the beginning of the Lenten season. Through prayer and reflection, students learned that Lent is a special time to grow closer to God by showing kindness, making good choices and caring for others. A special thank you to our Faith in Action Team for leading our Liturgy with such reverence and confidence. We are proud of the leadership they show within our school community. πβ¨ May this season of Lent be a time of hope, love and renewal for all.

βοΈ Ash Wednesday β Primary βοΈ Today our Stage 3 students at St Nicholas of Myra attended Mass for Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. During Lent, we strive to grow closer to God through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Father Rojan reminded us that God has given us something very special, today. He also challenged us throughout this holy season: How can we do something for someone else each day of Lent? Our Infants students will hold a Liturgy at 2:30pm in the school hall. All are warmly welcome to join us as we begin this sacred journey together. ππ

β 2026 Welcome Picnic β What a wonderful way to begin the 2026 school year! Our Welcome Picnic was a fantastic opportunity for families, students and staff to come together in community and celebrate the year ahead. βοΈ 2026 Opening School Mass βοΈ The St Nicholas of Myra community gathered to celebrate our 2026 Opening School Mass. Our theme was βTogether We Learn, Together We Serveβ was inspired by Galatians 5:13. It was a beautiful opportunity to come together in faith as we begin a new school year. Father Rojan spoke about the importance of being united in our learning, in service to one another, and in our relationship with God. His message reminded us that we are strongest when we walk together as a community. We look forward to a wonderful 2026 together as a school community. β¨π

Students are asked to wear their full summer uniform for this significant whole school event as we gather to celebrate the beginning of the school year and formally induct our 2026 Student Leaders. π Student Success π Last weekend, Liam in Year 6 competed at the Little Athletics Region 6 Carnival, showcasing his talents across a range of events including the 100m, 200m, Discus, Shot Put and Javelin. We are thrilled to share that Liam brought home Bronze medals in Discus, Shot Put and Javelin! What an outstanding achievement! π We are so proud of Liamβs dedication, effort and sportsmanship, and we look forward to celebrating even more athletics success in 2026. Well done, Liam! π
