700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australiaβs Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.

𧑠Harmony Day Prayer 𧑠Our Student Representative Council led a beautiful Harmony Day prayer to begin our celebrations, reminding us of the importance of inclusion, respect and belonging within our community. βLove one another as I have loved you.β (John 13:34) Dear God, Thank you for the many gifts of our diverse world. Help us to respect and celebrate each person's culture, language and story. May we listen with open hearts, Speak with kindness, And act with fairness and understanding. 𧑠Harmony Day 𧑠Today, St Nicholas of Myra celebrated Harmony Day with students wearing orange or traditional cultural dress. As a Catholic community, we are called to welcome and include all, recognising that each person is created in Godβs image. Through our faith, we celebrate the dignity, diversity and unity of every member of our school. π€ At St Nicholas, we are proud to come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, but most importantly, we all belong. πβ¨

βοΈ Holy Week Reflection βοΈ During this sacred time in the Church year, our Year 6 students will lead our school community in a reverent Holy Week reenactment. Through prayerful reading, acting, and song, they will bring to life the events of Holy Week, helping us all to enter more deeply into the story of Jesusβ love, sacrifice, and hope. This special experience is not just a performance, but an opportunity for our whole school to pause, reflect, and pray together. As we gather, we are invited to walk alongside Jesus in His journey, to listen to His message, and to open our hearts to the meaning of this season in our own lives. We warmly invite all parents, carers, and family members to join us for this special time of prayer and reflection.

π Harmony Day at St Nicholas of Myra 𧑠Harmony Day is a special opportunity for us to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and traditions that make up our wonderful school community. It reminds us that everyone belongs and highlights the importance of respect, inclusion, and understanding. As a Catholic community, we are called to welcome and include all, recognising the dignity of every person and celebrating the unique gifts each individual brings. On Monday 23rd March, students are invited to wear traditional cultural dress or something orange to show their support for Harmony Day. All members of our community are warmly invited to join us for a Harmony Day Prayer, which will take place following our Monday morning assembly at 9:00am. We look forward to celebrating together! π§‘
