From jerseys and scarves to plenty of Aussie spirit, our students came together to cheer on our national team and celebrate the excitement of football on the world stage. π¦πΊ We'll be behind you every step of the way as you represent Australia with determination, teamwork and true Aussie spirit. π Join Us for Our Book Fair on Grandparents Day! π Weβre excited to welcome grandparents and families to our Book Fair on Friday, 24 July. ποΈ Book tokens are available for pre-order now via the Qkr! app for just $5 or $10. β° Pre-orders close at 4:00 pm on Sunday, 20 July. π A selection of books will also be available for purchase on the day; however, on-the-day purchases will be EFTPOS only. π Olympics Unleashed at St Nicholas of Myra π Today, our Stage 2 and Stage 3 students were privileged to welcome Luci Marsh, Australian Water Polo player, as part of the Olympics Unleashed program. Luci shared her inspiring journey in sport, speaking openly about both her successes and disappointments. She discussed the importance of setting goals for the present, near future and long term, and provided students with practical strategies for achieving them. Luci also highlighted the value of resilience, perseverance and bouncing back when things do not go as planned. Our students were engaged and inspired by Luciβs passion, determination and commitment to pursuing her dreams. Thank you, Luci, for sharing your experiences and encouraging our students to believe in themselves and strive for their goals. On Friday 26 June, we will join together as a school community to show our support for the Socceroos as they represent Australia on the world stage. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to come together in a spirit of pride, teamwork, and celebration of Australian sport. To mark the occasion, we will be having a Socceroos Green and Gold Day (splash of colour). Students are encouraged to add a touch of green and gold to their school sports uniform if they wish (for example, a ribbon, socks, scarf, hat, or headband). Please note that all students are still required to wear their full school sports uniform, including closed-in shoes. Letβs come together to cheer on the Socceroos and celebrate Australian spirit! π Student Success π A huge congratulations to Leilexii and her cheerleading team, Liberty Allstars Penrith, who achieved an outstanding result at the AASCF Winterfest Cheer & Dance Championships on Saturday 20th June 2026. Leilexii and her teammates proudly took out 1st Place, showcasing incredible teamwork, dedication, skill and spirit throughout the competition. π St Vincent de Paul Certificate of Appreciation π Today, our Faith in Action Team proudly accepted a Certificate of Appreciation from the St Vincent de Paul Society in recognition of the generosity shown by the St Nicholas of Myra School Community. Thank you to all our students, families and staff who contributed winter donations to support those in need within our local community. Your kindness and compassion will help bring warmth and comfort to many people this winter. As our school song reminds us, "We will open up our hearts to show we care." This collection was a wonderful example of our community living out these words through action. Thank you for opening your hearts and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
