๐๐๐งก Farewell Mr Vane-Tempest ๐๐๐งก Last week, the St Nicholas of Myra community gathered to celebrate the retirement of Mr Tim Vane-Tempest. Mr Vane-Tempest has been known for his insistent, consistent, persistent and predictable approachโqualities that have provided clarity, stability and direction for students, staff and families alike. His clear expectations, steady guidance and trust in people have helped shape the positive culture we enjoy today. Our community sincerely thanks Tim for his strong leadership, compassion and care for his staff, engagement and expertise with the parents, and most of all, his genuine commitment and passion to ensure that every student is supported to learn, grow and thrive. As he moves into retirement, we hope he enjoys many peaceful days fishing and spending cherished time with his wife Christine and their family. On behalf of the school and Parish community, we wish him every blessing for a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement.

๐โจ St Nicholas of Myra Christmas Spectacular! โจ๐ Our end-of-year Christmas Concert is fast approaching, and we canโt wait to celebrate together as a school community! ๐ During Creative Arts time each week, our students have been busily preparing a special performance retelling the night Jesus was born โ a joyful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. ๐ซ ๐ Location: School Playground ๐ Date: Friday, 5 December 2025 โฐ Time: 5:00pm โ 5:45pm Bring your Christmas spirit, family, and friends โ itโs going to be a wonderful evening of music, celebration, and community! โค๏ธ๐ถ There will be a BBQ to follow the concert with detail to come in the coming days.

๐๏ธ Ready, set, race!๐๏ธ Our Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 students had an amazing time testing out their skills with our custom-made billy carts at their Billy Cart Incursion! ๐๐จ They explored how wheels and movement work while practising balance, steering, and teamwork. Racing around the course using their own feet, they built confidence, coordination, and control โ all while discovering the science of motion and force in a super fun way! โ๏ธโจ

๐ 2025 CSPD Basketball Gala Day ๐ What an incredible day of teamwork, energy, and St Nickโs school spirit! ๐๐งก๐ St Nicholas of Myra was proudly represented at the 2025 CSPD Basketball Gala Day, with six teams from Stage 2 and Stage 3 taking to the courts. Our students played with determination, enthusiasm, and fantastic sportsmanship โ encouraging one another, including everyone, and celebrating every success along the way. ๐ A huge thank you to our amazing teachers โ Mrs Khoury, Mrs Selby, Ms Bernays, and Mr Brown โ for their support and organisation, and to our wonderful parent helpers โ Mr Brown, Mrs Arokianathan, Mrs Reales, Mr Akbary, Mrs Muthuvairavan, Mr VinothKumar and Mr Pigera โ for cheering on our teams throughout the day. ๐ Well done to all our players for representing St Nickโs with pride and joy โ a true example of our school spirit in action! ๐ช๐ฝโจ

Remembrance Day Today, on the 11th of November, we stop to remember all the men and women who have served our country in times of war, conflict, and peace. At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we pause to honour their courage and sacrifice. As a Catholic community, we remember that Jesus calls us to be people of peace and love. In the Gospel, Jesus says, โBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of Godโ (Matthew 5:9). On this day, we give thanks for the men and women who have worked to bring peace to our world, often with great courage and selflessness. The red poppy reminds us that even after times of great sadness, new life and hope can grow. We wear it to show our respect and to promise that we will not forget those who gave their lives for others. Remembrance Day reminds us of the people who gave up so much so that we can live in peace and freedom. We remember those who fought at places like Gallipoli and the Western Front, and those who have served in more recent times, helping others around the world. The red poppy is the symbol of Remembrance Day. It grew on the battlefields after the First World War and reminds us that even in dark times, hope can grow. We invite you to join our commemoration on Wednesday 12th at 10:45am on the school playground. Lest we forget.
