💐 Mother’s Day Morning Tea 💐 A lovely morning was shared with the St Nicholas of Myra community as we celebrated all the wonderful women in our lives with a special Mother’s Day Morning Tea. The warmth, joy and sense of community throughout the school could truly be felt as families gathered together to celebrate. We are so lucky to have such caring, supportive and generous women who make our community so special. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such a memorable celebration filled with love, laughter and gratitude.

💐 Mother’s Day Mass 💐 Today, St Nicholas of Myra students gathered in the St Nicholas of Myra Church to celebrate and give thanks for all the mothers, grandmothers, nannas, nanas, grans, grandmas, oma’s, yiayias and the special women in our lives. During the Mass, Father Joe reminded students that God gifted us our mothers from the very moment of our birth, blessing us with people who nurture, guide and love us unconditionally. Students also reflected on Mary, the Mother of God, and the beautiful example she gives us through her faith, kindness, courage and love. Just as Mary cared for Jesus, we give thanks for the many women in our lives who care for and support us each day. We thank all of the wonderful women in our school community and wish them a very happy Mother’s Day.

💐 Mother’s Day Stall 💐 🤫 Shhh… don’t tell the Mums! St Nicholas of Myra held our annual Mother’s Day Stall, giving students the opportunity to choose a special gift for the amazing mother figures in their lives. Whether they are Mum, Step-mum, Nan, Grandma, Nanna, Nonna, Oma, Yiayia, Abuela or another special person who fills their lives with love and care. The excitement and thoughtfulness shown by the students made for a wonderful morning filled with smiles and surprises. A huge THANK YOU to our incredible parent helpers who generously gave their time to help wrap gifts and run the stall. Your support and kindness helped make the event such a success for our students and families. 💙💜🧡

Lifted Jnr Today at Lifted Jnr, our Stage 3 students gathered with 40 other primary schools for a powerful time of listening, prayer, dancing, and singing as we explored the meaning of Pentecost. Together, we reflected on the fruits and gifts of the Spirit and what it means to live with purpose. It was inspiring to see students engage so openly and joyfully, thinking deeply about how they can bring these gifts back into our school community through kindness, courage, service, and love.

🚀✨ Stage 2 Science Incursion ✨🚀 What better day to explore the wonders of Space than May 4th… May the Fourth be with you! 🌌⭐ Our Stage 2 students at St Nicholas of Myra had an incredible day of hands-on Science learning, diving into all things Space as part of their incursion. We were thrilled to welcome Jackie from One Giant Leap Australia Foundation, who inspired students to dream big and explore future pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). 🤖🔬 A definite highlight of the day was the robot dog, who quickly became a crowd favourite as it followed Miss Reynolds and made its way around each classroom! 🐕‍🦺💡 In the afternoon, students were amazed by a visit from the Planetarium, stepping inside the dome to experience the Solar System in stunning detail. It truly felt like travelling through space! 🌍🪐 To make the day even more special, students and staff embraced the theme by dressing up in their best space-inspired outfits 🚀👩‍🚀👽 A fantastic day filled with curiosity, excitement, and learning as we continue to inspire our future scientists! 🌟

🐅🐊 Kindergarten Excursion – Sydney Zoo 🦏🦘 Kindergarten students from St Nicholas of Myra enjoyed their very first excursion to Sydney Zoo. Throughout the day, students explored the zoo, learning about a wide variety of animals and their natural environments. In addition to their wildlife experiences, students deepened their understanding of Indigenous Australian culture, exploring connections to the land and examining cultural artefacts. It was a wonderful day filled with friendship, discovery and meaningful learning for our Kindergarten students.

🐾 🐅 Kindergarten Excursion – Sydney Zoo 🐘🦒 Our Kindergarten students from St Nicholas of Myra Primary School are heading off on their very first excursion to Sydney Zoo! 🎉 This exciting day of learning will see students exploring the amazing world of animals, discovering their characteristics, needs, behaviours, and the environments in which they live. Students will also deepen their understanding of First Nations cultures by engaging with Dreaming stories, oral histories, and physical objects, learning how First Nations peoples connect to Country and community today. 🌏 We look forward to seeing our Kindergarten students be learners who are safe and respectful as they embrace this wonderful opportunity!

On this ANZAC Day, our school community pauses in remembrance and gratitude for all who have served and continue to serve in times of conflict and peace. We honour the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have shaped our history. As we reflect, we are reminded of the enduring words from John McCrae’s poem “In Flanders Fields”: “They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.” As a faith community, we pray for all who have died in war, entrusting them to the loving mercy of God. May Christ, our hope and peace, inspire us to be people of compassion, reconciliation, and service in our world. May we continue to teach our students the importance of remembrance, respect, and peace. Lest we forget.

🌺 ANZAC Day Commemoration 🌺 The St Nicholas of Myra school community gathered in prayer and reflection to commemorate ANZAC Day. In a solemn and respectful ceremony, we listened to the Word of God and remembered the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served our nation. As a Catholic community, we are called to live out the values reflected in the ANZAC spirit; courage, mateship, sacrifice, and service. These echo the Gospel message of love, selflessness, and standing for what is right, just as Jesus taught us. ✝️ May we continue to honour this legacy by living lives of compassion, serving others, and working for peace in our world. 🌿 Lest we forget. 🌿

✝️ ❤️‍🔥 Sacrament of Confirmation ❤️‍🔥 ✝️ Last night, 14 current students and one former student of St Nicholas of Myra received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW. Surrounded by family, friends, and our faith community, they stood proudly and were presented, ready to renew their baptismal promises. Through this special sacrament, they were strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit — wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe — guiding them to live out their faith with confidence and purpose. 🕊️ ❤️‍🔥 Congratulations to each of you on this important step in your faith journey. We look forward to seeing how you share your faith through service, kindness, and love with all those you encounter. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and inspire you always. 🙏

✨🕊️ Confirmation Celebration ✨🕊️ Congratulations to our St Nicholas of Myra students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation tonight - Kacey, Alex, Tiegan-Maree, Celine, Vivien, Lyla, Caitlyn, Natania, Lucas, Jake, Auri, Orno, Yethum and Olivia. Confirmation is a special moment in the life of a Catholic. Through this sacrament, students are strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit 🕊️ and are called to live out their faith with courage, love ❤️ and service 🤝.
