2018 Parent Helper Breakfast
On Wednesday, 12 December, staff and parents gathered for the 2018 Parent Helper Breakfast. This breakfast is a small way to say thank you to the parents and carers who assist during the school year including covering library books, assisting in the canteen, assisting in events such as discos, barbecues and concerts as well as helping coach students in a range of sporting gala days.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated and valued by the entire school community. Every helping hand, not matter how small, helps our students to be safe, respectful learners.

π€ Buddies at St Nicholas of Myra π At St Nicholas of Myra, our newest Kindergarten students are each partnered with a Year 5 Buddy to support them throughout their first two years of primary school. Our Year 5 students proudly step into the role of mentor and role model, demonstrating what it means to be safe, respectful learners each and every day. Through this special partnership, our Kindergarten students feel supported and connected, while our Year 5 students begin their pathway into future student leadership opportunities. Itβs wonderful to see these friendships already forming and our strong sense of community shining through! π

π Outstanding Achievement! π On Friday, Rome from Year 6 proudly represented the Parramatta Diocese at the 2026 MacKillop Basketball Trials. He not only showcased his impressive skills on the court, but also demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork and courage throughout the day. A huge congratulations to Rome on being selected in the 2026 MacKillop Team! π He will now compete at the 2026 PSSA Basketball Tournament in Port Macquarie from 19β22 May. β¨ Year 6 Encounter β Student Faith Formation Experience β¨ Our Year 6 students recently attended Encounter at Panthers, gathering with students from across the Parramatta Diocese for a powerful day of faith and connection. Today we welcomed our local Catholic high schools to visit our Stage 3 students, sharing what they have to offer as our learners begin to look ahead to the next stage of their educational journey. It was wonderful to reconnect with former St Nicholas of Myra students and see how they are thriving in their high school years. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong relationships formed in our community. We thank our visiting schools for inspiring our students and strengthening the connection across our Catholic learning community. β¨

πββοΈ Nepean Zone Swimming Carnival 2026 πββοΈ St Nicholas of Myra students truly got into the swimming spirit at the 2026 Nepean Zone Swimming Carnival. Our students showcased their skills, cheered one another on and competed with outstanding effort and determination. We are so proud of the way they conducted themselves both in and out of the water, demonstrating respect, teamwork and true sportsmanship. Not 1, not 2, not 3β¦ but 12 students will now represent the Nepean Zone at the 2026 CSPD Swimming Carnival on March 4th! βοΈ Ash Wednesday β Infants Liturgy π Today our Infants students gathered for a beautiful Ash Wednesday Liturgy to mark the beginning of the Lenten season. Through prayer and reflection, students learned that Lent is a special time to grow closer to God by showing kindness, making good choices and caring for others. A special thank you to our Faith in Action Team for leading our Liturgy with such reverence and confidence. βοΈ Ash Wednesday β Primary βοΈ Today our Stage 3 students at St Nicholas of Myra attended Mass for Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. During Lent, we strive to grow closer to God through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Father Rojan reminded us that God has given us something very special, today. He also challenged us throughout this holy season: How can we do something for someone else each day of Lent? Our Infants students will hold a Liturgy at 2:30pm in the school hall. All are warmly welcome to join us as we begin this sacred journey together. ππ
