2018 Parent Helper Breakfast
On Wednesday, 12 December, staff and parents gathered for the 2018 Parent Helper Breakfast. This breakfast is a small way to say thank you to the parents and carers who assist during the school year including covering library books, assisting in the canteen, assisting in events such as discos, barbecues and concerts as well as helping coach students in a range of sporting gala days.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated and valued by the entire school community. Every helping hand, not matter how small, helps our students to be safe, respectful learners.

✝️ Intergenerational Program ✝️ Today, our first group of Year 6 students began their journey in our Intergenerational Program — and what a special experience it was. At St Nicholas of Myra, we are committed to developing our students academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. A key part of this formation is providing opportunities for them to encounter and learn from others in our wider community. This morning, our students visited the residents at Royce Retirement Village for the first time. Through shared conversations, laughter and simple moments of connection, both our students and the residents were enriched. We are incredibly proud of the compassion, respect and maturity shown by our Year 6 students. They truly embodied our school values and the belief in the dignity of every person. We look forward to many more meaningful visits throughout the year. 💙💜🧡

🌟 Student Achievement – Congratulations Mia! 🌟 We are incredibly proud to share some exciting news about Mia’s recent success in Little Athletics! Mia represented her club at the Regional Little Athletics Carnival in the 8 Years Girls 500g Discus, finishing an outstanding 5th place with a throw of 12.39 metres – an amazing achievement at regional level! Last week at the Penrith Club Records Night, Mia continued to impress by: 🏅 Breaking the season record in 500g Discus with a new PB of 12.43 metres 🏅 Setting a new Shot Put record with a PB of 4.47 metres Your dedication, determination and commitment to always becoming the best version of yourself is inspiring, Mia. 🏃♂️ Cross Country Carnival – Save the Date! 🏃♀️ The St Nicholas of Myra Cross Country Carnival will be held on Thursday 5th March at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Primary School. This event provides students aged 8–12 with the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 CSPD Diocesan Cross Country Carnival. To be eligible, students must: ✔️ Finish in the top 6 of their age group (8-10 years, 11 years, 12 years) ✔️ Achieve the qualifying time ✔️ Not walk at any stage during the race ⏰ Race Times • 9:15am (approx.) – Boys 8–10 years (2km) • 9:40am (approx.) – Girls 8–10 years (2km) • 10:00am (approx.) – 11–12 years (3km) Our Infants students (5–7 years) will participate in a fun run throughout the day. The course will follow a 250m circuit around the school grounds, including the front footpath. We look forward to a fantastic day of participation, perseverance and school spirit! 🏅

🤝 Buddies at St Nicholas of Myra 💙 At St Nicholas of Myra, our newest Kindergarten students are each partnered with a Year 5 Buddy to support them throughout their first two years of primary school. Our Year 5 students proudly step into the role of mentor and role model, demonstrating what it means to be safe, respectful learners each and every day. Through this special partnership, our Kindergarten students feel supported and connected, while our Year 5 students begin their pathway into future student leadership opportunities. 🏀 Outstanding Achievement! 🏀 On Friday, Rome from Year 6 proudly represented the Parramatta Diocese at the 2026 MacKillop Basketball Trials. He not only showcased his impressive skills on the court, but also demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork and courage throughout the day. A huge congratulations to Rome on being selected in the 2026 MacKillop Team! 👏 He will now compete at the 2026 PSSA Basketball Tournament in Port Macquarie from 19–22 May.
