2018 Author Visit
Author Alan Whiticker, a former St Nicholas of Myra and St Dominics student, visited St Nicholas to share his books and experiences of being an author with the students. Alan has written over 50 books (non fiction) many on rugby league and sport. A former teacher, he now writes full time and is also a publisher. He loved visiting the school today and some classrooms and donated over 50 books today from all different authors he represents and publishers. Thank You Alan and a wonderful experience for our students.

βοΈ Holy Week Reflection βοΈ During this sacred time in the Church year, our Year 6 students will lead our school community in a reverent Holy Week reenactment. Through prayerful reading, acting, and song, they will bring to life the events of Holy Week, helping us all to enter more deeply into the story of Jesusβ love, sacrifice, and hope. This special experience is not just a performance, but an opportunity for our whole school to pause, reflect, and pray together. As we gather, we are invited to walk alongside Jesus in His journey, to listen to His message, and to open our hearts to the meaning of this season in our own lives. We warmly invite all parents, carers, and family members to join us for this special time of prayer and reflection.

π Harmony Day at St Nicholas of Myra 𧑠Harmony Day is a special opportunity for us to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and traditions that make up our wonderful school community. It reminds us that everyone belongs and highlights the importance of respect, inclusion, and understanding. As a Catholic community, we are called to welcome and include all, recognising the dignity of every person and celebrating the unique gifts each individual brings. On Monday 23rd March, students are invited to wear traditional cultural dress or something orange to show their support for Harmony Day. Today we congratulate our Year 3 and Year 5 students who have now completed their 2026 NAPLAN assessments. We are very proud of the way our students approached these assessments, showing persistence, resilience and a positive attitude as they gave their best effort in each assessment. π Happy St Patrickβs Day! π Today our school community celebrated St Patrickβs Day, remembering the life and faith of St Patrick, who brought the message of Godβs love to the people of Ireland. Students enjoyed coming together in prayer, learning about the story of St Patrick, and celebrating the rich faith and traditions of our Catholic Church. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and plenty of green around the school! Students are invited to wear orange or cultural dress to school to celebrate the rich diversity within our community. We warmly invite families to support this event by donating Easter items between now and Friday 20 March. We understand that the cost of living has increased and that Easter eggs can sometimes be expensive.
