2018 Author Visit
Author Alan Whiticker, a former St Nicholas of Myra and St Dominics student, visited St Nicholas to share his books and experiences of being an author with the students. Alan has written over 50 books (non fiction) many on rugby league and sport. A former teacher, he now writes full time and is also a publisher. He loved visiting the school today and some classrooms and donated over 50 books today from all different authors he represents and publishers. Thank You Alan and a wonderful experience for our students.

2026 Learn a thon Donation Update! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to the 2026 St Nicholas of Myra Learn a thon so far. We are absolutely blown away by the incredible generosity and support shown by our school community! Hereโs an update on donations from each stage as of Monday 21st September: ๐ฅ Kindergarten and Stage 1 are neck and neck at the front, with Kindergarten currently holding a very slight edge! ๐ญ Be The Witness Musical โ๏ธ Our Stage 3 students were privileged to experience Be The Witness at the Riverside theatre in Parramatta. Be The Witness is a call to reflect on the power of discipleship, the cost of following Jesus, and the quiet, world-changing choices we make through faith, compassion and love in action. More than just a musical, it was a shared and uplifting experience that encouraged our students to think deeply about their own faith and how they can live out the message of Jesus in their everyday lives. We are grateful that our Stage 3 students had this wonderful opportunity to strengthen their faith, reflect on the Gospel and be reminded of what it truly means to be the witness. What a wonderful experience for our students! โค๏ธ

๐ค Voice of Youth Western Finals ๐ค Today, Isabella from Year 6 will represent the Penrith Region at the 2026 Voice of Youth Western Finals! We are incredibly proud of Isabella and the effort, perseverance and skill she has demonstrated to make it this far. Public speaking is not easy and is often considered one of peopleโs greatest fears, but Isabella has embraced the challenge and continues to thrive in front of an audience. Her confidence, preparation and ability to communicate her ideas are a wonderful reflection of her commitment and determination. ๐ JERSEY DAY โ FRIDAY 25th SEPTEMBER ๐ Weโre finishing Term 3 in style! ๐ To celebrate the football finals and mark the final day of Term 3, St Nicholas of Myra Primary School will be holding a Jersey Day on Friday 25th September. Students are invited to wear a jersey of their choice over their school sports uniform. Basketball jerseys can be worn over the school sports shirt. Please remember: โข Jerseys must be worn over the school sports uniform, not instead of it. โข School hats must be worn as usual. โข Students should otherwise attend in full school sports uniform. Weโre looking forward to a fun day of celebrating the footy finals and finishing Term 3 together!

๐๐ซ 2026 Learn a thon ๐ฌ ๐งฎ Our inaugural Learn a thon will be held on Thursday, 24th September! Our Learn a thon is a fun filled day where students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will participate in a variety of engaging, hands on learning experiences across a range of curriculum areas and passion projects. Throughout the day, students will rotate through exciting learning sessions designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. As well as being a fantastic educational experience, the Learn a thon is also our major fundraising event for the year. We invite students to seek sponsorship from family and friends to support our school while celebrating the joy of learning. Every dollar raised helps provide valuable learning opportunities and resources for our students. Details of how to donate can be found below. We've organised some exciting rewards to encourage everyone to get involved! Stay tuned and we will be communicating these in the coming days. ๐ Grade Prize - The grade that raises the most money will win a Pizza Party or Movie Afternoon! ๐๏ธ Bonus Raffle Tickets - For every $10 raised, students will receive one bonus raffle ticket for our prize draw. These students have consistently demonstrated our school expectations through their learning, behaviour and interactions with others. ๐ Netball Gala Day โ Senior Boys! ๐ Today, our Senior Boys were presented with their medals for winning their pool at last weekโs 2026 Netball Gala Day! The boys played exceptionally well throughout the day, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship and determination. Their positive attitude, encouragement of one another and commitment on the court were outstanding. What a great reward for an outstanding team effort! ๐ Congratulations, Senior Boys!
