2018 Author Visit
Author Alan Whiticker, a former St Nicholas of Myra and St Dominics student, visited St Nicholas to share his books and experiences of being an author with the students. Alan has written over 50 books (non fiction) many on rugby league and sport. A former teacher, he now writes full time and is also a publisher. He loved visiting the school today and some classrooms and donated over 50 books today from all different authors he represents and publishers. Thank You Alan and a wonderful experience for our students.

π Student Success π£π€ A huge shout out to our egg-cellent Easter Hat Parade hosts, Yethum and Lila! π°β¨ Public speaking is no easy task, but they showed incredible courage, confidence, and kept their nerves at bay, all while letting their personalities shine through for all to see. We are so proud of the way they led our community celebration! π And of courseβ¦ they cracked a few jokes along the way! ππ₯ Well done, Yethum and Lilaβyou truly hatched a fantastic performance! π©π

π¦π§ Project Compassion Fundraiser Ice Cream π§π¦ The St Nicholas of Myra Faith in Action Team recently organised a wonderful ice-cream fundraiser in conjunction with The Big Water Walk to support Project Compassion. Through this initiative, our students not only enjoyed a sweet treat but also contributed to a meaningful causeβraising funds to support communities in need around the world. Project Compassion helps provide critical resources and opportunities for people to reclaim their lives with dignity, resilience and hope. Every contribution brings us one step closer to creating lasting change. π§ Project Compassion β The Big Water Walk π§ Students at St Nicholas of Myra recently took part in The Big Water Walk, stepping into the shoes of those around the world who walk long distances every day to access clean water. Carrying buckets of water around a course, our students experienced just a small glimpse of the challenges faced by communities in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Through this powerful activity, they built empathy, awareness and a deeper understanding of the importance of water as a basic human right. We are so proud of our students for showing compassion, resilience and a commitment to making a difference. ππ

π Student Success π We are proud to share that following his success as Liam in Year 6 qualified for and competed at the Little Athletics NSW State Championships held at Sydney Olympic Park last weekend. Liam competed in three events and achieved outstanding results against strong competition: π 18th in Javelin π 11th in Shot Put π₯ 4th in Discus Competing at this level is an incredible accomplishment, and Liamβs results reflect his dedication and hard work. We are especially proud of the perseverance, character, and sportsmanship he displayed throughout the competition. π Congratulations, Liam! We look forward to seeing what you achieve next.

π Student Success π We are incredibly proud to celebrate Yethumβs outstanding achievement at the Nepean District Cricket Association (NDCA) award ceremony held on March 20, 2026. Yethum was recognised for achieving the best bowling average in the 2025/26 summer cricket season β an exceptional accomplishment! Finishing the season with 19 wickets at an incredible average of 3.11, Yethumβs performance is a testament to his skill, dedication, and hard work. Congratulations, Yethum! 700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australiaβs Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.
