Students and their families have recently taken part in four session to welcome the newest members of the St Nicholas of Myra community
The sessions included demonstrations of learning at St Nicholas, classroom walkthroughs, students and parent speakers, numerous information sessions from experts such as nutritionist, school banking, road safety experts, and occupational therapists.
The sessions culminated with a moving Liturgy with the 2018 and 2019 Kindergarten students.
We can't wait for out newest member to begin in 2019!

π π Kindergarten Excursion β Sydney Zoo π¦π¦ Kindergarten students from St Nicholas of Myra enjoyed their very first excursion to Sydney Zoo. Throughout the day, students explored the zoo, learning about a wide variety of animals and their natural environments. In addition to their wildlife experiences, students deepened their understanding of Indigenous Australian culture, exploring connections to the land and examining cultural artefacts. It was a wonderful day filled with friendship, discovery and meaningful learning for our Kindergarten students.

On this ANZAC Day, our school community pauses in remembrance and gratitude for all who have served and continue to serve in times of conflict and peace. We honour the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have shaped our history. As we reflect, we are reminded of the enduring words from John McCraeβs poem βIn Flanders Fieldsβ: βThey shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.β As a faith community, we pray for all who have died in war, entrusting them to the loving mercy of God. May Christ, our hope and peace, inspire us to be people of compassion, reconciliation, and service in our world. May we continue to teach our students the importance of remembrance, respect, and peace. Lest we forget.

πΊ ANZAC Day Commemoration πΊ The St Nicholas of Myra school community gathered in prayer and reflection to commemorate ANZAC Day. In a solemn and respectful ceremony, we listened to the Word of God and remembered the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served our nation. As a Catholic community, we are called to live out the values reflected in the ANZAC spirit; courage, mateship, sacrifice, and service. These echo the Gospel message of love, selflessness, and standing for what is right, just as Jesus taught us. βοΈ May we continue to honour this legacy by living lives of compassion, serving others, and working for peace in our world. πΏ Lest we forget. πΏ

βοΈ β€οΈβπ₯ Sacrament of Confirmation β€οΈβπ₯ βοΈ Last night, 14 current students and one former student of St Nicholas of Myra received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW. Surrounded by family, friends, and our faith community, they stood proudly and were presented, ready to renew their baptismal promises. Through this special sacrament, they were strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit β wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe β guiding them to live out their faith with confidence and purpose. ποΈ β€οΈβπ₯ Congratulations to each of you on this important step in your faith journey.
