2019 Stage 3 Leadership Day
Year 4 and 5 students took part in the 2019 Stage 3 Leadership Day. Students worked in teams to problem solve through a range of tasks with a focus on the skills needed to be active leaders at St Nicholas in 2019. The day consisted of a range of fun activities where students focused on the skills of communicating, teamwork and problem solving. A great experience and we look forward to our 2019 Stage 3 students leading the school to be safe, respectful learners.

πβοΈ First Holy Communion βοΈπ This weekend, St Nicholas of Myra students celebrated a very special milestone in their faith journey, receiving their First Holy Communion on the Feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) at St Nicholas of Myra Church. Surrounded by their families, teachers and parishioners, the students received Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. During the celebration, Father Joe reminded us that the Eucharist is βthe source and summit of the Christian life,β nourishing us and drawing us closer to Christ. Congratulations to Issac, Oliver, Emily, Irene, Liam, Jamie, Zian, Valentina and Fletcher on this important step in their sacramental journey. βοΈ First Holy Communion βοΈ This weekend, several St Nicholas of Myra students will take an important step in their faith journey as they receive their First Holy Communion at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW. Students will celebrate this special sacrament at one of three Masses: π Saturday 6:00pm π Sunday 10:00am π Sunday 12:00pm We congratulate and pray for Emily, Valentina, Zian, Irene, Fletcher, Liam, Jamie, Oliver and Isaac as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. πΆ Musica Viva Australia at St Nicholas of Myra πΆ St Nicholas of Myra students enjoyed a powerful and engaging performance titled Lost Histories by musician and composer Troy, alongside violinist Susie and vocalist Leila. Through music, storytelling and reflection, students explored Troy's connection to history, culture and place. The performance encouraged students to think deeply about their own stories, identities and connections to the world around them. Students enthusiastically sang along to songs they had been learning in Music with Mrs Clarke, making the experience even more meaningful and interactive. The enthusiasm, participation and thoughtful engagement shown by our students throughout the performance were outstanding. A heartfelt thank you to Troy, Susie and Leila for sharing your talents, stories and passion with our St Nicholas of Myra community. We had so much fun learning with you and were inspired by the experience.

π€π Pyjama Day for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal π€π Today, the students and staff of St Nicholas of Myra came to school in their pyjamas to support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. As the winter months approach, many individuals and families in our community will face challenges meeting their basic needs. As a Catholic school community, we are called to care for those who are most vulnerable and to put our faith into action through acts of kindness, generosity and service. π§Ά Crochet Club 2026 π§Ά This term, our Mission Initiative is focused on helping and supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship during the cold winter months. Through our Crochet Club, students will have the opportunity to learn basic crochet skills while creating items that can support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. ππ𧑠Thank You to our students and teachers who donate their time to help out people in need.
