In Term 4, Stage 2 is lucky enough to be working with a professional author in Term 4 once a week with the company WestWords

The project will be running for the first 5 weeks of the term and has already started off with a bang! The students are working hard on the way they craft stories, different features of texts, and getting feedback from a professional author. In the weeks to come, they will also have an opportunity to be working alongside a professional Illustrator. We look forward to seeing the student’s creative writing develop and to the students’ turning into authors.

πŸš€βœ¨ Stage 2 Science Incursion βœ¨πŸš€ What better day to explore the wonders of Space than May 4th… May the Fourth be with you! 🌌⭐ Our Stage 2 students at St Nicholas of Myra had an incredible day of hands-on Science learning, diving into all things Space as part of their incursion. We were thrilled to welcome Jackie from One Giant Leap Australia Foundation, who inspired students to dream big and explore future pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). πŸ€–πŸ”¬ A definite highlight of the day was the robot dog, who quickly became a crowd favourite as it followed Miss Reynolds and made its way around each classroom! πŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸ’‘ In the afternoon, students were amazed by a visit from the Planetarium, stepping inside the dome to experience the Solar System in stunning detail. It truly felt like travelling through space! 🌍πŸͺ To make the day even more special, students and staff embraced the theme by dressing up in their best space-inspired outfits πŸš€πŸ‘©β€πŸš€πŸ‘½ A fantastic day filled with curiosity, excitement, and learning as we continue to inspire our future scientists! 🌟

πŸ…πŸŠ Kindergarten Excursion – Sydney Zoo 🦏🦘 Kindergarten students from St Nicholas of Myra enjoyed their very first excursion to Sydney Zoo. Throughout the day, students explored the zoo, learning about a wide variety of animals and their natural environments. In addition to their wildlife experiences, students deepened their understanding of Indigenous Australian culture, exploring connections to the land and examining cultural artefacts. It was a wonderful day filled with friendship, discovery and meaningful learning for our Kindergarten students.
