In Term 4, Stage 2 is lucky enough to be working with a professional author in Term 4 once a week with the company WestWords
The project will be running for the first 5 weeks of the term and has already started off with a bang! The students are working hard on the way they craft stories, different features of texts, and getting feedback from a professional author. In the weeks to come, they will also have an opportunity to be working alongside a professional Illustrator. We look forward to seeing the student’s creative writing develop and to the students’ turning into authors.

π Year 6 Intergenerational Program π Today our second group of Year 6 students visited The Royce as part of our wonderful Intergenerational Program. On the agenda today was decorating cupcakes with a St Patrickβs Day theme ππ§. Students enjoyed spending time with the residents, listening to their stories and learning from the wisdom of our elders. We were also lucky enough to meet the man behind the name, with students having the opportunity to meet Penrith legend Royce Simmons. A special experience for our students and a beautiful reminder of the value of connection across generations. π

πββοΈSchool Cross Country πββοΈ Today our St Nicholas of Myra Primary School students braved the hot and humid conditions to complete the 2026 School Cross Country. We were incredibly proud of the determination shown by all students as they challenged themselves and persevered throughout their races. The spirit of the day was outstanding, with students cheering each other on and encouraging their peers right to the finish line. It was wonderful to see such strong school pride and support for one another. βΌοΈ 2026 Cross Country- Reminder βΌοΈ Our 2026 Cross Country will be held on Thursday 5 March. Races will begin at approximately 9:15am and conclude around 11:00am. All students are to wear their sports uniform, including appropriate running shoes and a hat. We also encourage students to bring a water bottle. Our Infants students will participate in a fun run led by their teachers throughout the day. We look forward to a wonderful morning of participation, encouragement and school spirit.

βοΈ Intergenerational Program βοΈ Today, our first group of Year 6 students began their journey in our Intergenerational Program β and what a special experience it was. At St Nicholas of Myra, we are committed to developing our students academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. A key part of this formation is providing opportunities for them to encounter and learn from others in our wider community. This morning, our students visited the residents at Royce Retirement Village for the first time. Through shared conversations, laughter and simple moments of connection, both our students and the residents were enriched. We are incredibly proud of the compassion, respect and maturity shown by our Year 6 students. They truly embodied our school values and the belief in the dignity of every person.
