In Term 4, Stage 2 is lucky enough to be working with a professional author in Term 4 once a week with the company WestWords
The project will be running for the first 5 weeks of the term and has already started off with a bang! The students are working hard on the way they craft stories, different features of texts, and getting feedback from a professional author. In the weeks to come, they will also have an opportunity to be working alongside a professional Illustrator. We look forward to seeing the student’s creative writing develop and to the students’ turning into authors.

On this ANZAC Day, our school community pauses in remembrance and gratitude for all who have served and continue to serve in times of conflict and peace. We honour the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have shaped our history. As we reflect, we are reminded of the enduring words from John McCraeโs poem โIn Flanders Fieldsโ: โThey shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.โ As a faith community, we pray for all who have died in war, entrusting them to the loving mercy of God. May Christ, our hope and peace, inspire us to be people of compassion, reconciliation, and service in our world. May we continue to teach our students the importance of remembrance, respect, and peace. Lest we forget.

๐บ ANZAC Day Commemoration ๐บ The St Nicholas of Myra school community gathered in prayer and reflection to commemorate ANZAC Day. In a solemn and respectful ceremony, we listened to the Word of God and remembered the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served our nation. As a Catholic community, we are called to live out the values reflected in the ANZAC spirit; courage, mateship, sacrifice, and service. These echo the Gospel message of love, selflessness, and standing for what is right, just as Jesus taught us. โ๏ธ May we continue to honour this legacy by living lives of compassion, serving others, and working for peace in our world. ๐ฟ Lest we forget. ๐ฟ

โ๏ธ โค๏ธโ๐ฅ Sacrament of Confirmation โค๏ธโ๐ฅ โ๏ธ Last night, 14 current students and one former student of St Nicholas of Myra received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW. Surrounded by family, friends, and our faith community, they stood proudly and were presented, ready to renew their baptismal promises. Through this special sacrament, they were strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit โ wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe โ guiding them to live out their faith with confidence and purpose. ๐๏ธ โค๏ธโ๐ฅ Congratulations to each of you on this important step in your faith journey. We look forward to seeing how you share your faith through service, kindness, and love with all those you encounter. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and inspire you always. ๐

Confirmation is a special moment in the life of a Catholic.
